Non-rigid Registration by Diffusion Model with the Demons Algorithm
نویسندگان
چکیده
Non-rigid registration becomes more and more important in biomedical imaging applications. A novel non-rigid registration method based on diffusion model with demons algorithm is proposed in this paper. The moving image is considered as a deformable grid, and it is diffusing through the contours of the objects in itself, by the action of effectors, called demons, situated in these interfaces. In order to speed up the convergence of the iteration and enhance the robustness of the algorithm, the moving image is smoothed to increase the number of the ‘demons’. The deformation field has been normalized at each iteration to ensure the stability. Our algorithm is compared with the original ‘demons’ and other developed algorithms on synthetic images and real medical images, the result shows that our algorithm has obvious speed improvement and high tolerance of large deformation and noise. متن کاملAbdominal Images Non-rigid Registration Using Local-Affine Diffeomorphic Demons
Abdominal image non-rigid registration is a particularly challenging task due to the presence of multiple organs, many of which move independently, contributing to independent deformations. Local-affine registration methods can handle multiple independent movements by assigning prior definition of each affine component and its spatial extent which is less suitable for multiple soft-tissue struc...

W e present the concept of non-rigid matching based o n demons, by reference to Maxwell’s demons. W e contrast this concept with the more conventional viewpoint of attraction. W e show that demons and attractive points are clearly distinct f o r large deformations, but also that they become similar for small displacements, encompassing techniques close to optical flow. We describe a general ite...
متن کاملNon-Rigid Registration Based on Local Uncertainty Quantification and Fluid Models for Multiparametric MR Images
In this work, we present a novel fully automated elastic registration method for magnetic resonance (MR) images with mismatched intensities, which combines a novel mapping based on an intensity uncertainty quantification in a local region, with a fluid-like registration technique. The proposed methodology can be summarized in two global steps: first, a mapping over the target and source images ...
متن کاملA Non-rigid Registration Framework That Accommodates Resection and Retraction
Traditional non-rigid registration algorithms are incapable of accurately registering intra-operative with pre-operative images whenever tissue has been resected or retracted. In this work we present methods for detecting and handling retraction and resection. The registration framework is based on the bijective Demons algorithm using an anisotropic diffusion smoother. Retraction is detected at...
